O.M.G. I almost can't stand it.

The 28 border blocks with their accent circles |
In my last post, I mentioned that I have completely, totally, absolutely, positively FINISHED all the border blocks for the Deco Garden Forever Project™! That's 4 sides of the quilt .... 7 blocks per side .... for a total of 28 border blocks and a total of 112 small accent circles.

The 4 corner blocks and their accent circles |
And then I remembered .... I had kinda/sorta forgotten about the corner blocks. Oops. I prepped those blocks, made the 24 MORE small accent circles and got everything stitched down.
As with all things, this was finally accomplished and with that ... YES! WOO HOO, YES! My border blocks AND corner blocks have been completed.
I am mentally exhausted.

Bonus Block 49: Cyclamen |
However, there is no rest for the wicked and my floral blocks still have some designs left to do.
This block is Bonus Block #49 (Cyclamen) from Reeze Hanson's "Deco Garden" patterns.
It is the 47th floral block to be done. TWO MORE FLORAL BLOCKS TO GO!! Boy, I am rapidly approaching the end of the tunnel.
Beautiful. Heavy going when the designs are so similar! But you nailed it! Home run now with the remaining blocks.
ReplyDeleteNot much done here - apart from my own enforced "no more sewing until the room is sorted!" So I'm refolding the stash in a different way and stacking them in different groups. So far I'm happy but the guest bed is swamped with piles ready to do and luckily the piles that are ready to go back on the shelf outnumber those! Harr! The end is in sight for me too!
Isn't that the grandest feeling? :-)
ReplyDeleteI remind myself, when I'm reorganizing something, that a bigger mess needs to be created on the way to straightening the mess up!
And don't forget to jettison what you really, really, really do NOT need any more. Make some tough decisions ... yes, you *could* finish that particular UFO but will you? Are you even interested in it any longer? What are you saving all those for?
Honestly, I've never missed the items I gave away or sold. They were just dead weight on my shoulders.
Did I streamline **at the time**? Oh yes! Have I succumbed to collecting newer things? Oh yes! LOL!
Trouble is I have everything earmarked! But really enjoying the scrappy stashbusting at the moment - well, probably why it got messy! Florals everywhere from years ago - it was time and now I have plans for using up even more! It's funny that the new regime is making space! The only fabric I buy now is for background or backing. I did have the smaller yardage or fq's wrapped around comic boards set on edge - that just caused issues with loose edges. I still have the comic boards but folding differently and laid flat means I can lift something in the middle and they don't flop - no edges apart from the ones at the back, which works great. The spaces on the shelves can be used for cut and prepped things ready to sew. On a roll! :D
DeleteAbsolutely stunning!
